Can not send email with opera mail and windows 8.1
Frustrating!
I'm here to help you troubleshoot the issue. Let's go through some steps to resolve the problem:
1. Check Opera Mail settings:
- Ensure that your email account settings are correct in Opera Mail. Go to Settings (icon looks like a gear) > Accounts > Edit next to your email account. Verify that your email address, password, and server settings are correct.
2. Check email account credentials:
- Make sure your email account credentials are correct. Try logging into your email account using a web browser to ensure you can access your account without issues.
3. Check Opera Mail version:
- Ensure you're running the latest version of Opera Mail. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Help > Check for updates.
4. Disable any third-party extensions:
- Sometimes, third-party extensions can interfere with email functionality. Try disabling all extensions and then re-enabling them one by one to identify if any specific extension is causing the issue.
5. Check Windows 8.1 firewall settings:
- Ensure that the Windows 8.1 firewall is not blocking Opera Mail. You can check the firewall settings by going to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall. Make sure Opera Mail is allowed to communicate through the firewall.
6. Check for conflicts with other email clients:
- If you're using multiple email clients, try closing them or uninstalling them to see if they're interfering with Opera Mail.
7. Reset Opera Mail settings:
- Try resetting Opera Mail settings to their default values. Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings.
8. Reinstall Opera Mail:
- If none of the above steps work, try reinstalling Opera Mail. You can download the latest version from the Opera website.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please provide more details about the error message you're seeing, and I'll do my best to help you troubleshoot further.
