Can we delete a sent mail

The eternal question!

Unfortunately, once you've sent an email, it's generally not possible to delete it from the recipient's inbox. Here's why:

  1. Email protocols: Email protocols like SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) and POP3 (Post Office Protocol version 3) are designed to deliver emails from the sender's server to the recipient's server. Once an email is sent, it's considered "delivered" and can't be recalled or deleted from the recipient's end.
  2. Recipient's control: The recipient has control over their email account and can choose to delete, archive, or forward the email as they see fit. You can't force them to delete an email.
  3. Email storage: Most email providers store emails on their servers, and once an email is sent, it's stored on the recipient's server. Deleting an email from your own account won't remove it from the recipient's inbox.

However, there are some exceptions and workarounds:

  1. Recall feature: Some email providers, like Microsoft Exchange or Office 365, offer a "recall" feature that allows you to recall an email from the recipient's inbox. This feature is usually only available for a short period after sending the email.
  2. Email clients: Some email clients, like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, offer features to recall or delete emails from the recipient's inbox. However, these features are not universally supported and may not work with all email providers.
  3. Third-party services: There are third-party services, like Email Recall or Recall Email, that claim to offer email recall features. However, these services may not be reliable or effective.

In summary, while it's generally not possible to delete a sent email from the recipient's inbox, there are some exceptions and workarounds available. If you need to recall an email, it's best to contact the recipient directly and ask them to delete it.
