Can windows mail import into windows 10 mail app

Unfortunately, the Windows Mail app in Windows 10 does not have a built-in feature to import emails from Windows Mail (also known as Windows Live Mail) or other email clients.

However, there are a few workarounds to help you migrate your emails from Windows Mail to the Windows 10 Mail app:

Method 1: Export from Windows Mail and Import into Windows 10 Mail

  1. Open Windows Mail on your Windows 7 or 8 machine.
  2. Go to File > Export and select Export Messages.
  3. Choose a location to save the exported files (e.g., a folder on your desktop).
  4. Select the file format as EML (Email Message Format).
  5. Export all your emails or select specific folders to export.
  6. Copy the exported EML files to your Windows 10 machine.
  7. Open the Windows 10 Mail app and go to Settings (gear icon) > Accounts > Add account.
  8. Select Import and choose the EML file you exported earlier.

Method 2: Use a Third-Party Email Migration Tool

There are several third-party tools available that can help you migrate your emails from Windows Mail to the Windows 10 Mail app. Some popular options include:

  1. Mailbird: A popular email client that can import emails from Windows Mail and other email clients.
  2. eM Client: A feature-rich email client that can import emails from Windows Mail and other email clients.
  3. Gmail Backup and Restore: A free tool that can export emails from Windows Mail and other email clients to Gmail, which can then be imported into the Windows 10 Mail app.

Method 3: Manually Forward Emails

If you don't want to export and import emails, you can manually forward emails from your Windows Mail account to your Windows 10 Mail account. This method is time-consuming, but it can be done:

  1. Open Windows Mail on your Windows 7 or 8 machine.
  2. Select the emails you want to forward.
  3. Right-click on the selected emails and choose Forward.
  4. Enter the email address of your Windows 10 Mail account.
  5. Compose a new email with the subject and body you want to use.
  6. Send the email.

Remember to repeat this process for each email you want to forward.

I hope these methods help you migrate your emails from Windows Mail to the Windows 10 Mail app!
