Can you bcc in a mail merge

In a mail merge, you can indeed use the "Bcc" (Blind Carbon Copy) field to send emails to multiple recipients without revealing their email addresses to each other.

Here's how to do it:

In Microsoft Word:

  1. Open your mail merge document and go to the "Mailings" tab.
  2. Click on "Select Recipients" and choose your recipient list.
  3. In the "Write & Insert Fields" group, click on the "Insert Merge Field" button.
  4. In the "Insert Merge Field" dialog box, select "Bcc" from the list of fields.
  5. Click "Insert" to insert the Bcc field into your document.
  6. When you run the mail merge, the Bcc field will automatically populate with the email addresses from your recipient list.

In Microsoft Outlook:

  1. Open your email message and go to the "To" field.
  2. Right-click on the "To" field and select "Insert Merge Field".
  3. In the "Insert Merge Field" dialog box, select "Bcc" from the list of fields.
  4. Click "Insert" to insert the Bcc field into your email message.
  5. When you run the mail merge, the Bcc field will automatically populate with the email addresses from your recipient list.

In other mail merge software:

The process may vary slightly depending on the specific mail merge software you're using. However, the general idea is the same: you'll need to insert a Bcc field into your document or email message and then populate it with the email addresses from your recipient list.

Remember to always check the recipient list for accuracy and make sure you have the necessary permissions to send emails to the recipients.
