Can you link gmail to windows live mail

Unfortunately, it's not possible to directly link Gmail to Windows Live Mail (WLM) as they are two separate email services with different architectures and protocols. However, there are a few workarounds to access your Gmail account in Windows Live Mail:

Method 1: Using POP3/IMAP

You can set up your Gmail account to use POP3 or IMAP protocols in Windows Live Mail. This will allow you to access your Gmail emails in WLM, but it won't sync your emails in real-time. Here's how:

  1. In Windows Live Mail, go to Tools > Accounts > Add a new email account.
  2. Select POP3 or IMAP as the account type.
  3. Enter your Gmail address and password.
  4. Set the incoming mail server to pop.gmail.com (POP3) or imap.gmail.com (IMAP).
  5. Set the outgoing mail server to smtp.gmail.com.
  6. Configure the port numbers as follows:
    • POP3: 995
    • IMAP: 993
    • SMTP: 587
  7. Click Next and then Finish to complete the setup.

Method 2: Using a third-party email client

You can use a third-party email client like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, which supports both Gmail and Windows Live Mail. These clients can sync your emails across both services.

Method 3: Using a web-based email client

You can use a web-based email client like Gmail's built-in web interface or a third-party web-based email client like Mailbird or Sanebox, which allows you to access your Gmail account from within Windows Live Mail.

Please note that using POP3/IMAP or a third-party email client may not provide the same level of integration and synchronization as using the native Gmail client or web interface. Additionally, some features like labels, filters, and two-factor authentication may not work as expected when accessing your Gmail account through Windows Live Mail.
