Can you see when your mail is read in gmail

In Gmail, you can't see when someone reads your email in real-time, but there are some workarounds to help you track when your emails are opened:

  1. Read Receipts: You can request a read receipt from the recipient, which will send a notification to your email when they open the message. To do this:
    • Compose a new email or reply to an existing one.
    • Click on the three vertical dots at the bottom of the compose window.
    • Select "Request read receipt" from the dropdown menu.
    • The recipient will receive a notification asking if they want to grant you a read receipt.
    • If they agree, you'll receive a notification when they open the email.
  2. Email Tracking Tools: There are third-party email tracking tools available that can help you track when your emails are opened. Some popular options include:
    • Yesware: A browser extension that tracks email opens, clicks, and attachments.
    • Streak: A sales CRM that includes email tracking features.
    • Boomerang: A browser extension that allows you to schedule emails, track opens, and more.
  3. Gmail Labs: Gmail Labs is a testing ground for new features. You can enable the "Email tracking" feature to see when your emails are opened. To do this:
    • Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon).
    • Click on "Labs" from the menu.
    • Search for "Email tracking" and enable the feature.
    • Note that this feature is still experimental and may not work for all users.

Keep in mind that these methods may not work for all recipients, and some may not be compatible with certain email clients or devices. Additionally, some recipients may not grant you read receipts or may use email clients that don't support tracking.
