Yes, you can send mail from an alias in G Suite (formerly Google Apps). An alias is an alternative email address that forwards emails to your primary email address. Here's how to set up and use an alias to send mail in G Suite:
Setting up an alias:
- Log in to your G Suite account and go to the Admin console.
- Click on "Users" and then select the user account you want to set up the alias for.
- Click on "Email addresses" and then click on "Add email address".
- Enter the alias email address you want to create (e.g., [email protected]).
- Click "Save".
Sending mail from an alias:
- Compose a new email in the Gmail interface.
- In the "From" field, select the alias email address you created from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the recipient's email address and any other necessary information.
- Click "Send".
Note: When you send an email from an alias, the "From" field will display the alias email address, but the reply-to address will still be your primary email address.
Additional settings:
- You can also set up an alias to forward emails to another email address outside of your G Suite domain. To do this, go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" settings in the Gmail interface and add the alias email address as a forwarding address.
- You can also use an alias to send emails on behalf of another user in your G Suite domain. To do this, go to the "Users" section in the Admin console and click on "Send as" for the user you want to send emails on behalf of.
