Cant see deleted mails in trash gmail

Frustrating!

If you're unable to see deleted emails in your Gmail trash folder, here are some troubleshooting steps to help you recover them:

  1. Check your trash folder settings: Ensure that your trash folder is set to retain deleted emails for at least 30 days. You can do this by following these steps:
    • Log in to your Gmail account.
    • Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner.
    • Select "See all settings."
    • Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
    • Scroll down to the "Trash" section.
    • Make sure the "Keep deleted messages for" dropdown menu is set to at least 30 days.
  2. Search for deleted emails: Try searching for the deleted emails using the Gmail search bar. You can use keywords like "in:trash" or "is:trash" to search for deleted emails. For example:
    • in:trash (searches for emails in the trash folder)
    • is:trash (searches for emails that are currently in the trash folder)
  3. Use the "Show deleted messages" button: If you're using the Gmail web interface, you can click on the "Show deleted messages" button at the top of the trash folder to temporarily show deleted emails. This button is only available if you have deleted emails in your trash folder.
  4. Check your Gmail account's "All Mail" label: Sometimes, deleted emails can be moved to the "All Mail" label instead of the trash folder. You can check the "All Mail" label by following these steps:
    • Log in to your Gmail account.
    • Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner.
    • Select "See all settings."
    • Go to the "Labels" tab.
    • Look for the "All Mail" label and click on it.
    • Check if the deleted emails are present in this label.
  5. Use a third-party email client or app: If you're using a third-party email client or app to access your Gmail account, try using the Gmail web interface or a different email client to see if you can recover the deleted emails.
  6. Contact Gmail support: If none of the above steps work, you can contact Gmail support for further assistance. They may be able to help you recover the deleted emails or provide additional troubleshooting steps.

Remember that Gmail has a limited retention period for deleted emails, so it's essential to act quickly to recover them.
