Cc in mail function

The cc (carbon copy) function in email!

In email, cc is a way to send a copy of an email to one or more recipients, in addition to the primary recipient(s) specified in the to field. This allows you to keep others informed about the email conversation, even if they're not the primary recipient.

Here's how it typically works:

  1. You compose an email and enter the primary recipient(s) in the to field.
  2. You add one or more additional recipients in the cc field. These recipients will receive a copy of the email, but they won't be the primary recipient.
  3. When you send the email, the email client will send a copy of the email to each recipient in the cc field, in addition to the primary recipient(s) in the to field.

The cc field is usually denoted by the abbreviation "cc" or "carbon copy" in the email client's interface. You can typically access it by clicking on the "To" field and selecting "CC" from the dropdown menu or by using a keyboard shortcut.

Here are some common use cases for cc:

  1. Keeping others informed: You can use cc to keep colleagues, managers, or other stakeholders informed about an email conversation, even if they're not the primary recipient.
  2. Requesting feedback: You can use cc to request feedback or input from others who may not be the primary recipient, but are still relevant to the conversation.
  3. Keeping a record: You can use cc to keep a record of an email conversation, even if the primary recipient doesn't need to take action.

Remember to use cc judiciously, as excessive use can lead to information overload and cluttered inboxes!
