Cc stands for in mail

In email, "CC" stands for "Carbon Copy". It's a way to send a copy of an email to one or more recipients, in addition to the primary recipient(s) specified in the "To" field.

In the past, before digital email, carbon paper was used to make copies of documents. When you typed on a document, the ink would transfer to a sheet of carbon paper, creating a copy of the document. This process was called "carbon copying".

In email, the CC field serves a similar purpose. When you add someone's email address to the CC field, they receive a copy of the email, but they are not necessarily expected to take action or respond to the email. The primary recipient(s) in the To field are usually the ones who are expected to take action or respond.

For example, if you're sending an email to a colleague and also want to keep your manager informed, you might add their email address to the CC field. This way, your manager receives a copy of the email, but they're not necessarily expected to respond.
