Cern mail outlook

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, uses Microsoft Outlook as its primary email client. Here's how to access your CERN email account using Outlook:

Step 1: Set up your CERN email account in Outlook

  1. Open Outlook on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Click on "File" > "Add Account" (or "New Account" on Outlook 2016 and later).
  3. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
  4. Choose "POP or IMAP" and click "Next".
  5. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your full name (e.g., John Doe)
    • Email Address: Your CERN email address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Account Type: POP3
    • Incoming mail server: pop.cern.ch
    • Outgoing mail server: smtp.cern.ch
    • User Name: Your CERN username (e.g., johndoe)
    • Password: Your CERN password
  6. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup process.

Step 2: Configure your CERN email account in Outlook

  1. Go to "File" > "Account Settings" (or "Office Account" on Outlook 2016 and later).
  2. Select your CERN email account and click "Change".
  3. In the "Change Account" window, select "More Settings" and then click "Outgoing Server".
  4. Check the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
