Certified mail fee restricted delivery

A very specific question!

When you send a certified mail piece with restricted delivery, you're paying for two services:

  1. Certified Mail: This service provides proof of mailing and delivery, with a signature from the recipient. The fee for certified mail is currently $3.95 for a 1-ounce letter.
  2. Restricted Delivery: This service requires the recipient to sign for the package, and the carrier will not leave the package at the recipient's address without a signature. The fee for restricted delivery is currently $2.75.

So, the total fee for certified mail with restricted delivery is:

$3.95 (certified mail) + $2.75 (restricted delivery) = $6.70

Please note that these fees are subject to change, so it's always a good idea to check with the United States Postal Service (USPS) for the most up-to-date pricing information.

It's worth noting that restricted delivery is only available for packages that weigh 13 ounces or less. If your package weighs more than 13 ounces, you'll need to use a different type of service, such as Signature Confirmation, which provides similar proof of delivery and signature requirements.
