Change date format in mail merge field word 2007

In Word 2007, you can change the date format in a mail merge field using the following steps:

  1. Open your Word document and go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon.
  2. Click on the "Select Recipients" button in the "Write & Insert Fields" group and select "Use an Existing List" or "Type New List" to open the "Select Recipient" dialog box.
  3. In the "Select Recipient" dialog box, click on the "Edit" button next to the "Date format" field.
  4. In the "Date Format" dialog box, select the desired date format from the list of available formats.
  5. Click "OK" to close the "Date Format" dialog box and then click "OK" again to close the "Select Recipient" dialog box.
  6. Go back to your Word document and select the mail merge field that contains the date you want to format.
  7. Right-click on the field and select "Toggle Field" to toggle the field on and off.
  8. In the "Field Properties" dialog box, click on the "Format" tab.
  9. In the "Format" tab, select the desired date format from the list of available formats.
  10. Click "OK" to close the "Field Properties" dialog box.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Format" button in the "Mailings" tab to format the date field. To do this:

  1. Go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon.
  2. Click on the "Format" button in the "Write & Insert Fields" group.
  3. In the "Format" dialog box, select the desired date format from the list of available formats.
  4. Click "OK" to close the "Format" dialog box.

Note that the date format you select will be applied to all date fields in your mail merge document. If you want to apply a different date format to a specific date field, you can use the "Format" button in the "Field Properties" dialog box.
