Change in pan card application form after its mailed

If you have already submitted your PAN card application form and want to make changes to it, you can do so by following these steps:

Method 1: Online Correction

  1. Visit the NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) website at www.tin-nsdl.com.
  2. Click on the "Correction/Changes" tab and select "PAN Correction".
  3. Fill in the required details, including your PAN number, name, and other relevant information.
  4. Upload the required documents, if any.
  5. Pay the applicable fee (Rs. 110 for online correction).
  6. Submit the application.

Method 2: Offline Correction

  1. Download the PAN correction form (Form 49A) from the NSDL website or obtain it from a NSDL PAN Service Centre.
  2. Fill in the form correctly, making sure to mention the changes you want to make.
  3. Attach the required documents, if any.
  4. Submit the form to the NSDL PAN Service Centre or the NSDL office.
  5. Pay the applicable fee (Rs. 110 for offline correction).

Changes that can be made

You can make the following changes to your PAN card application form:

  1. Name: You can correct spelling mistakes, add/remove middle names, or change your surname.
  2. Date of Birth: You can correct errors in your date of birth.
  3. Address: You can update your address, including your city, state, and pin code.
  4. Father's/Husband's Name: You can correct errors in your father's/husband's name.
  5. Other details: You can correct errors in your occupation, income, or other relevant details.

Important notes

  1. The correction fee is non-refundable, even if your application is rejected.
  2. You can make changes to your PAN card application form only once. If you need to make multiple changes, you will need to submit separate applications.
  3. The correction process may take some time, so it's recommended to apply well in advance of any deadlines or requirements.

Remember to keep a copy of your corrected application form and the supporting documents for your records.
