Check shaw email through outlook express

A blast from the past!

Outlook Express is an older email client that was popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s. While it's no longer supported by Microsoft, you can still use it to check your Shaw email account. Here's how:

Step 1: Set up Outlook Express

If you haven't already, download and install Outlook Express from the Microsoft website. You can also try using the Windows Live Mail client, which is a more modern alternative.

Step 2: Configure Shaw email settings

To set up your Shaw email account in Outlook Express, follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook Express and click on "Tools" > "Accounts" > "Add a new account".
  2. Select "Internet Email" and click "Next".
  3. Enter your Shaw email address (e.g., [yourname]@shaw.ca) and your Shaw email password.
  4. Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Step 3: Configure Shaw email settings (continued)

  1. In the "Internet Email" window, enter the following settings:
    • "Incoming mail server" (POP3): pop.shaw.ca
    • "Outgoing mail server" (SMTP): smtp.shaw.ca
    • "Username" (your Shaw email address)
    • "Password" (your Shaw email password)
  2. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Step 4: Check your Shaw email

Once you've set up your Shaw email account in Outlook Express, you can check your email by clicking on the "Inbox" folder in the left-hand menu. Your Shaw email should now be accessible through Outlook Express.

Note: Keep in mind that Outlook Express is no longer supported by Microsoft, and you may encounter compatibility issues or security vulnerabilities. It's recommended to use a more modern email client or web-based email service like Shaw's own webmail interface.
