To set up your CityU email account on an Android device, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add a new account

  1. Go to your Android device's Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and select "Accounts" or "Accounts & sync" (depending on your device).
  3. Tap "Add account" or "New account".
  4. Select "Personal (IMAP)" or "Corporate (Exchange)" (depending on your email type).

Step 2: Enter your email account details

  1. Enter your CityU email address (e.g., [your_username]@cityu.edu.hk).
  2. Enter your CityU email password.
  3. Tap "Next" or "Continue".

Step 3: Set up your email account

  1. Select "IMAP" or "Exchange" as the account type (depending on your email type).
  2. Enter the following settings:
    • IMAP:
      • Server: imap.cityu.edu.hk
      • Port: 993
      • Security type: SSL/TLS
    • Exchange:
      • Server: outlook.office365.com
      • Port: 443
      • Security type: SSL/TLS
  3. Tap "Next" or "Continue".

Step 4: Set up your email account (continued)

  1. Enter your name and email address as desired.
  2. Choose whether to sync your email, contacts, and calendar.
  3. Tap "Next" or "Continue".

Step 5: Verify your account

  1. Your device will attempt to verify your account. If successful, you'll see a confirmation message.
  2. Tap "Next" or "Continue" to complete the setup process.

Step 6: Set up your email client

  1. You can now set up your email client (e.g., Gmail, Outlook) to use your CityU email account.
  2. Follow the prompts to set up your email client.
