Compuserve mail at aol

A blast from the past!

Compuserve Mail was a popular email service in the 1980s and 1990s, and it was indeed acquired by America Online (AOL) in 1998. At the time, Compuserve was one of the largest online services in the world, with millions of subscribers.

When AOL acquired Compuserve, it merged the two services, allowing Compuserve subscribers to access AOL's email service, which was then known as AOL Mail. As a result, Compuserve Mail accounts were converted to AOL Mail accounts, and users could access their email through the AOL website or through the AOL software.

In 2010, AOL announced that it would be discontinuing its email service, including AOL Mail, and encouraging users to switch to other email providers, such as Gmail or Yahoo Mail. As a result, Compuserve Mail accounts were effectively shut down, and users were no longer able to access their email through the AOL website or software.

However, it's worth noting that some Compuserve Mail accounts may still be accessible through third-party services or archives, although these may not be officially supported by AOL or Compuserve.
