Configure outlook for gmail pop3

To configure Outlook to use Gmail's POP3 settings, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable POP3 in your Gmail account

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Select the "Enable POP" option.
  5. Choose whether you want to allow less secure apps to access your account. If you're using a personal Gmail account, you may need to allow less secure apps.
  6. Click "Save Changes."

Step 2: Configure Outlook to use Gmail's POP3 settings

  1. Open Outlook and go to the "File" menu.
  2. Click on "Account Settings" and then select "Account Settings" again from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on "New" to create a new email account.
  4. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next."
  5. Select "POP3" as the account type and click "Next."
  6. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field.
    • Email Address: Your Gmail address.
    • POP3 Server: pop.gmail.com
    • Port: 995
    • Username: Your Gmail address.
    • Password: Your Gmail password.
  7. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.

Step 3: Configure Outlook to download emails from Gmail

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Account Settings."
  2. Select the Gmail account you just set up and click "Change."
  3. Under "Download email from the following server," select "POP3."
  4. Choose whether you want to download emails from the server or leave them on the server.
  5. Click "OK" to save the changes.
