Configure outlook for gmail pop3 access
To configure Outlook for Gmail POP3 access, follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable POP3 access in your Gmail account
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
- Select the "Enable POP" option.
- Choose whether you want to allow POP access from any email client or only from a specific IP address.
- Click "Save Changes."
Step 2: Configure Outlook for POP3 access
- Open Outlook and go to the "File" menu.
- Click on "Account Settings" (in Outlook 2010 and 2013) or "Add Account" (in Outlook 2016 and later).
- Click on "Manual setup or additional server types" and then click "Next."
- Select "POP3" as the account type and click "Next."
- Enter the following information:
- Your name: Enter your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field of your emails.
- Email address: Enter your Gmail address.

- Password: Enter your Gmail password.

Step 3: Configure Outlook to download emails from Gmail
- Go to the "File" menu and click on "Account Settings" (in Outlook 2010 and 2013) or "Add Account" (in Outlook 2016 and later).
- Select your Gmail account and click on the "Change" button next to "More Settings."
- Go to the "Advanced" tab.
- Under "Delivery," select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option.
- Choose how long you want to keep the emails on the server (e.g., 1 day, 1 week, etc.).
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Step 4: Verify your setup
- Send an email to your Gmail address from another email account.
- Wait for the email to arrive in your Gmail inbox.
- Open Outlook and check if the email has been downloaded from your Gmail account.
That's it! You should now be able to access your Gmail account using POP3 in Outlook.
