Crossed out text gmail

You're referring to the "crossed out" or "strikethrough" text feature in Gmail!

To use this feature, you can follow these steps:

  1. Compose a new email or reply to an existing one in Gmail.
  2. Type the text you want to strikethrough, and then select it by dragging your mouse over the text or by pressing Ctrl+A (Windows) or Command+A (Mac) to select all the text.
  3. Click on the "Format" button in the toolbar, which looks like a paint roller.
  4. In the dropdown menu, click on "Strikethrough" (or press Ctrl+Shift+5 on Windows or Command+Shift+5 on Mac).
  5. The selected text will now be crossed out with a horizontal line.

Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+5 (Windows) or Command+Shift+5 (Mac) to strikethrough the selected text.

Note that this feature is only available in the web version of Gmail, and not in the mobile app.
