To delete all unread Gmail messages, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Gmail Web Interface
- Log in to your Gmail account on the web.
- Click on the "Inbox" tab.
- Click on the "Select all conversations in the current search results" checkbox at the top left corner of the page.
- Click on the "Bulk actions" dropdown menu and select "Mark as read" or "Delete forever".
- Confirm the action by clicking "OK" or "Delete forever" (depending on your choice).
Method 2: Using the Gmail Mobile App
- Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
- Tap on the "Inbox" tab.
- Swipe left on the top of the screen to select all unread messages.
- Tap on the "Mark as read" or "Delete" button at the top right corner of the screen.
- Confirm the action by tapping "OK" or "Delete" (depending on your choice).
Method 3: Using Gmail's Filter Feature
- Log in to your Gmail account on the web.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings".
- Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on "Create a new filter".
- In the "From" field, enter "is:unread" (without quotes).
- Click on the "Create filter" button.
- Select "Apply the label" and choose "Unread" (or any other label you prefer).
- Click on "Create" to apply the filter.
- Go back to your Inbox and select all unread messages by checking the box at the top left corner.
- Click on the "Bulk actions" dropdown menu and select "Delete forever".
Important: Before deleting all unread messages, make sure you have backed up your important emails or have a way to recover them if needed.
