Deleted mail app now can't sign in

Frustrating!

If you've deleted the Mail app and now can't sign in, here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:

  1. Check if the account is still linked: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Account. Make sure your email account is still linked to your Apple ID.
  2. Reset your password: If you've forgotten your password, try resetting it. Go to the Apple ID website, click on "Forgot Apple ID or password," and follow the prompts.
  3. Check your email account settings: Ensure that your email account settings are correct. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, and verify that your email address, password, and other settings are accurate.
  4. Try signing in with a different email client: Open the Mail app on another device or use a different email client (like the Mail app on a Mac or a third-party email app) to see if you can sign in successfully. This will help you determine if the issue is specific to the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.
  5. Check for any pending updates: Ensure that your iPhone or iPad is running the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for any pending updates.
  6. Reset the Mail app: Try resetting the Mail app by going to Settings > [your name] > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage > Mail, and then swipe left on the Mail app to delete it. Then, go to the App Store, search for the Mail app, and reinstall it.
  7. Contact your email provider: Reach out to your email provider's support team to see if there are any issues on their end that might be causing the problem.
  8. Try signing in with IMAP or POP: If you're using a third-party email provider, try switching to IMAP or POP settings to see if that resolves the issue.
  9. Reset your iPhone or iPad: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your iPhone or iPad to its factory settings. This will erase all your data, so be sure to back up your device before doing so.

If you're still having trouble signing in, you may want to consider reaching out to Apple Support for further assistance.
