E mail block
An email block is a feature that allows you to block or filter out unwanted emails from specific senders, domains, or keywords. Here are some common types of email blocks:
- Sender Block: Blocks emails from a specific sender's email address.
- Domain Block: Blocks emails from a specific domain (e.g., @example.com).
- Keyword Block: Blocks emails that contain specific keywords or phrases.
- IP Block: Blocks emails from a specific IP address.
Here are some ways to set up an email block:
Gmail:
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon and select "See all settings."
- Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on "Create a new filter."
- Enter the sender's email address, domain, or keyword in the "From" field.
- Select "Block" as the action.
- Click "Create" to save the filter.

- Log in to your Outlook account.
- Click on the gear icon and select "View all Outlook settings."
- Go to the "Mail" tab.
- Click on "Filters and rules."
- Click on "New rule."
- Select "From people or public group" and enter the sender's email address, domain, or keyword.
- Select "Block" as the action.
- Click "Save" to save the rule.
Other email providers:
If you're using a different email provider, such as Yahoo, AOL, or ProtonMail, you can usually find the email block feature in the settings or preferences section of your account.
Tips:
- Be cautious when setting up an email block, as it may also block legitimate emails from the same sender or domain.
- Consider setting up a filter instead of a block, which allows you to forward or delete emails from specific senders or domains.
- If you're experiencing spam or phishing emails, consider reporting them to your email provider or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
