Email settings for hotmail

Here are the email settings for Hotmail:

Incoming Mail Server:

• Server name: outlook.office365.com
• Port: 993
• Encryption: SSL/TLS
• Authentication: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server:

• Server name: smtp.office365.com
• Port: 587
• Encryption: TLS
• Authentication: TLS

Additional Settings:

• Username: Your Hotmail email address (e.g. [yourname]@hotmail.com)
• Password: Your Hotmail email password
• IMAP: Yes
• SMTP: Yes
• POP3: Yes

Notes:

• Hotmail has been rebranded as Outlook.com, but the email settings remain the same.
• If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to enter the above settings manually.
• If you're having trouble connecting to your Hotmail account, try checking your account settings or contacting Microsoft support.

Here are the steps to set up your Hotmail account in popular email clients:

Outlook:

1. Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.
2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click Next.
3. Select "POP or IMAP" and click Next.
4. Enter your Hotmail email address, password, and incoming and outgoing server settings (above).
5. Click Next and then Finish.

Thunderbird:

1. Open Thunderbird and go to Tools > Account Settings.
2. Click on "Email" and then "Add Mail Account".
3. Enter your Hotmail email address and password.
4. Select "Manual setup" and click Next.
5. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings (above).
6. Click Next and then Finish.

iPhone/iPad:

1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Tap "Add Account" and select "Other".
3. Enter your Hotmail email address and password.
4. Select "IMAP" as the account type.
5. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings (above).
6. Tap "Next" and then "Save".

Android:

1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account.
2. Select "Personal (IMAP)" and enter your Hotmail email address and password.
3. Select "IMAP" as the account type.
4. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings (above).
5. Tap "Next" and then "Finish".
