Evolution email configuration at&t
To set up email configuration for Evolution on AT&T, you'll need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable IMAP on your AT&T account
- Log in to your AT&T account online.
- Click on the "Account" tab.
- Scroll down to the "Email" section.
- Click on "Edit" next to "Email settings".
- Under "Email settings", toggle the switch next to "IMAP" to the "On" position.
Step 2: Configure Evolution
- Open Evolution on your Linux machine.
- Click on "File" > "New" > "Mail Account" to create a new email account.
- Enter your name and email address in the respective fields.
- Select "IMAP" as the account type.
- Enter the following settings:
- Server: imap.mail.att.net
- Port: 993
- Username: Your AT&T email address
- Password: Your AT&T email password
- Authentication: Normal password
- Click "Add" to add the account.
Step 3: Configure SMTP
- Click on "File" > "New" > "Mail Account" to create a new email account.
- Enter your name and email address in the respective fields.
- Select "SMTP" as the account type.
- Enter the following settings:
- Server: smtp.mail.att.net
- Port: 587
- Username: Your AT&T email address
- Password: Your AT&T email password
- Authentication: Normal password
- Click "Add" to add the account.
Step 4: Set up the account
- Click on the "Accounts" button in the top left corner of the Evolution window.
- Select the AT&T account you just created.
- Click on the "Edit" button next to the account.
- In the "Edit Account" window, select the "IMAP" tab.
- Make sure the "Use IMAP" checkbox is selected.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
