Export address book to gmail
You can export your address book from various email clients and import it into Gmail. Here are the steps for some popular email clients:
Exporting from Outlook:
- Open Outlook and go to the "File" menu.
- Click on "Open & Export" and then select "Export to a file".
- Choose "Comma Separated Values (Windows)" as the file format.
- Select the contacts you want to export and click "Next".
- Choose a location to save the file and click "Finish".
- Open Gmail and go to the "Contacts" page.
- Click on the "Import" button and select "CSV" as the file format.
- Upload the exported file and follow the prompts to import your contacts.
Exporting from Thunderbird:
- Open Thunderbird and go to the "Tools" menu.
- Click on "Export" and select "Export Contacts".
- Choose "Comma Separated Values (CSV)" as the file format.
- Select the contacts you want to export and click "Export".
- Save the file to a location on your computer.
- Open Gmail and go to the "Contacts" page.
- Click on the "Import" button and select "CSV" as the file format.
- Upload the exported file and follow the prompts to import your contacts.
Exporting from Apple Mail:
- Open Apple Mail and go to the "Mail" menu.
- Click on "Preferences" and select the "Accounts" tab.
- Select the account you want to export contacts from and click "Export".
- Choose "Comma Separated Values (CSV)" as the file format.
- Select the contacts you want to export and click "Export".
- Save the file to a location on your computer.
- Open Gmail and go to the "Contacts" page.
- Click on the "Import" button and select "CSV" as the file format.
- Upload the exported file and follow the prompts to import your contacts.
Exporting from Android Contacts:
- Open the Contacts app on your Android device.
- Tap the "Menu" button and select "Import/Export".
- Choose "Export" and select "vCard (.vcf)" as the file format.
- Select the contacts you want to export and tap "Export".
- Save the file to a location on your device.
- Open Gmail on your computer and go to the "Contacts" page.
- Click on the "Import" button and select "vCard (.vcf)" as the file format.
- Upload the exported file and follow the prompts to import your contacts.
Exporting from iPhone Contacts:
- Open the Contacts app on your iPhone.
- Tap the "Edit" button and select "Select All".
- Tap the "Share" button and select "Export vCard".
- Choose a location to save the file and tap "Export".
- Open Gmail on your computer and go to the "Contacts" page.
- Click on the "Import" button and select "vCard (.vcf)" as the file format.
- Upload the exported file and follow the prompts to import your contacts.
Remember to always backup your contacts before exporting them, in case something goes wrong during the export process.
