Export windows live mail to outlook 365

A common migration question!

You can export your Windows Live Mail data to Outlook.com (which is the online version of Outlook) and then import it into Outlook 365. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you do so:

Export from Windows Live Mail:

  1. Open Windows Live Mail on your computer.
  2. Go to File > Export > Export to a file.
  3. Select Windows Live Mail as the export format.
  4. Choose the folders you want to export (e.g., Inbox, Sent Items, Contacts).
  5. Click Export to save the files to a location on your computer (e.g., a folder on your desktop).

Export from Windows Live Mail to Outlook.com:

  1. Go to Outlook.com and sign in with your Microsoft account (the same account you used with Windows Live Mail).
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Accounts section and click on Import.
  4. Select Windows Live Mail as the import format.
  5. Choose the files you exported from Windows Live Mail (e.g., the folder on your desktop).
  6. Click Import to upload the files to Outlook.com.

Import into Outlook 365:

  1. Sign in to Outlook 365 with your Microsoft account (the same account you used with Windows Live Mail).
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Accounts section and click on Import.
  4. Select Outlook.com as the import format.
  5. Choose the account you want to import the data into (e.g., your Outlook 365 account).
  6. Click Import to import the data from Outlook.com into Outlook 365.
