Flagging emails in outlook
Flagging emails in Outlook allows you to mark important messages so you can easily find them later. Here's how to flag an email in Outlook:
Method 1: Flag an email using the Flag button
- Open the email you want to flag.
- Click the "Flag" button in the "Tags" group of the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Choose a flag color from the dropdown menu. You can choose from the following options:
- High Importance
- Low Importance
- Follow Up
- Custom
- Click "OK" to apply the flag.
Method 2: Flag an email using the Quick Steps feature
- Open the email you want to flag.
- Click the "Quick Steps" button in the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click "Create New" and then "Flag" to create a new flag.
- Choose a flag color and add a description (optional).
- Click "Save" to save the flag.
Method 3: Flag an email using the keyboard shortcut
- Open the email you want to flag.
- Press the "F" key on your keyboard.
- Choose a flag color from the dropdown menu.
Viewing flagged emails
To view all flagged emails in Outlook, follow these steps:
- Go to the "Inbox" or any other folder you want to view flagged emails in.
- Click the "View" tab in the ribbon.
- Click "View Settings" in the "Current View" group.
- Click "Conditional Formatting" in the "Advanced View Settings" dialog box.
- Check the box next to "Flagged" under "Show items with these conditions".
- Click "OK" to apply the changes.
Now, all flagged emails will be displayed in the folder with a flag icon next to them.
Managing flagged emails
You can also use the "Flag" button to manage flagged emails. Here are some options:
- Click the "Flag" button again to remove the flag from the email.
- Right-click on a flagged email and select "Mark as Unflagged" to remove the flag.
- Use the "Flag" button to move a flagged email to a specific folder or category.
