Gmail colour code contacts
In Gmail, you can color-code your contacts to categorize them and make them easier to manage. Here's how:
Method 1: Using Labels
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Contacts" button in the top navigation bar.
- Click on the "Labels" tab.
- Click on the "New label" button.
- Enter a name for your label (e.g., "Work", "Friends", "Family", etc.).
- Click "Create".
- Select the contacts you want to add to the label by checking the boxes next to their names.
- Click "Apply label" and select the label you just created.
Method 2: Using Categories
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Contacts" button in the top navigation bar.
- Click on the "Categories" tab.
- Click on the "New category" button.
- Enter a name for your category (e.g., "Work", "Friends", "Family", etc.).
- Click "Create".
- Select the contacts you want to add to the category by checking the boxes next to their names.
- Click "Apply category" and select the category you just created.
Method 3: Using Colors
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Contacts" button in the top navigation bar.
- Click on the "Contacts" tab.
- Click on the "More" menu (three vertical dots) next to a contact's name.
- Select "Edit contact".
- Click on the "Labels" tab.
- Click on the "New label" button.
- Enter a name for your label (e.g., "Work", "Friends", "Family", etc.).
- Click "Create".
- Click on the label you just created to apply a color to it.
- Repeat steps 4-10 for each contact you want to color-code.
Tips:
- You can use a combination of labels, categories, and colors to organize your contacts.
- You can also use filters to automatically apply labels or categories to incoming emails from specific contacts.
- To view contacts with a specific label or category, click on the "Labels" or "Categories" tab and select the label or category from the dropdown menu.
