To block an email address or a sender in Gmail, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Block an email address
- Open your Gmail inbox and click on the email from the sender you want to block.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
- Select "Block [sender's email address]" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to block the sender by clicking "Block" in the pop-up window.
Method 2: Block a sender's email address using the "Report spam" feature
- Open your Gmail inbox and click on the email from the sender you want to block.
- Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
- Select "Report spam" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to report the email as spam by clicking "Report spam" in the pop-up window.
- Gmail will automatically block the sender's email address.
Method 3: Block a sender's email address using the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" feature
- Log in to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon at the top right corner.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on the "Create a new filter" button.
- Enter the sender's email address in the "From" field.
- Select "Block" as the action.
- Click "Create filter" to apply the filter.
Method 4: Block a sender's email address using the "Block sender" feature in the Gmail app
- Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
- Open the email from the sender you want to block.
- Tap the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
- Select "Block sender" from the dropdown menu.
- Confirm that you want to block the sender by tapping "Block" in the pop-up window.
Once you block an email address or sender, Gmail will automatically move any future emails from that sender to the "Spam" folder. If you want to unblock a sender, you can follow the same steps and select "Unblock" instead of "Block".
