Gmail imap account settings
Here are the Gmail IMAP account settings:
Server Settings:
- Incoming (IMAP) Server: imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
Outgoing (SMTP) Server:
- SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 587
- Security: TLS
- Authentication: Normal password
Additional Settings:
- Username: Your full Gmail address (e.g., [your_email_address]@gmail.com)
- Password: Your Gmail password
- IMAP Path Prefix: Leave this blank
- Use SSL: Yes
- Use TLS: Yes
Note:
- Make sure to enable IMAP in your Gmail settings. To do this, go to your Gmail account settings, click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab, and select "Enable IMAP".
- If you're using two-factor authentication (2FA) with your Gmail account, you may need to generate an App Password and use that instead of your regular password.
- Some email clients may require additional settings or configurations to work with Gmail IMAP. Consult your email client's documentation for more information.
Here are some examples of how to set up Gmail IMAP in popular email clients:
- Microsoft Outlook: Go to File > Account Settings > Account > More Settings > Advanced > Incoming mail server and enter imap.gmail.com, then click OK.
- Mozilla Thunderbird: Go to Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings > IMAP and enter imap.gmail.com, then click OK.
- Apple Mail: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > [Your Account] > Advanced > Incoming Mail Server and enter imap.gmail.com, then click OK.
Remember to replace [your_email_address] with your actual Gmail address.
