Gmail imap outlook 2016 settings
Here are the IMAP settings for Gmail, Outlook 2016, and Outlook 2019:
Gmail IMAP Settings:
- Server: imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: Your Gmail address (e.g., [email protected])
- Password: Your Gmail password
Outlook 2016 IMAP Settings:
- Open Outlook 2016 and go to File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles.
- Click on "Show Profiles" and select "Add" to create a new profile.
- Enter a name for the profile and click "OK".
- Click on "Manual setup or additional server types" and select "Internet E-mail".
- Enter the following settings:
- Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field.
- Email Address: Your Gmail address (e.g., [email protected]).
- Account Type: IMAP.
- Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 993 (IMAP) and 587 (SMTP)
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Username: Your Gmail address (e.g., [email protected])
- Password: Your Gmail password
- Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.
Outlook 2019 IMAP Settings:
The IMAP settings for Outlook 2019 are similar to those for Outlook 2016. Follow the same steps as above, but note the following:
- In Outlook 2019, the "Manage Profiles" option is located under File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles.
- The "Internet E-mail" option is still available, but you can also select "Office 365" or "Exchange" if you have an Office 365 or Exchange account.
Additional Tips:
- Make sure to enable IMAP in your Gmail settings by going to Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > Enable IMAP.
- If you're using two-factor authentication (2FA) with your Gmail account, you may need to generate an App Password and use that instead of your regular password.
