Gmail pop3 outlook 2016

A classic setup!

To set up Gmail to work with Outlook 2016 using POP3, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable POP3 in Gmail

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Select the "Enable POP" option.
  5. Choose whether you want to allow POP access from any email client or from a specific IP address.
  6. Click "Save Changes."

Step 2: Set up Outlook 2016 to use POP3

  1. Open Outlook 2016 and go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" again.
  2. Click on "New" to add a new email account.
  3. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next."
  4. Choose "POP3" as the account type and click "Next."
  5. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Your name as you want it to appear in the From field.
    • Email Address: Your Gmail address.
    • POP3 Server: pop.gmail.com
    • Port: 995
    • Username: Your Gmail address.
    • Password: Your Gmail password.
  6. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.

Step 3: Configure Outlook 2016 to download emails

  1. Go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" again.
  2. Select your Gmail account and click "Change."
  3. Under "More Settings," click on the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Under "Delivery," select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option.
  5. Choose how many days you want to keep the emails on the server.
  6. Click "OK" to save the changes.

That's it! Your Gmail account should now be set up to work with Outlook 2016 using POP3.
