Gmail pop3 settings outlook express

A blast from the past!

To set up Gmail with Outlook Express using POP3, follow these steps:

Gmail Settings:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Select the "Enable POP for all mail" option.
  5. Choose the "Keep Gmail's copy in the inbox" option.
  6. Click "Save Changes."

Outlook Express Settings:

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Go to "Tools" > "Accounts" > "Add a new account."
  3. Select "POP3" and click "Next."
  4. Enter the following settings:
    • Account name: Your name (e.g., John Doe)
    • Email address: Your Gmail address (e.g., [email protected])
    • POP3 server: pop.gmail.com
    • Port: 995
    • Username: Your Gmail address (e.g., [email protected])
    • Password: Your Gmail password
  5. Click "Next" and then "Finish."

Additional Settings:

  1. In Outlook Express, go to "Tools" > "Options" > "Mail Services" > "POP3."
  2. Check the box next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server."
  3. Set the "Remove from server after" option to "1 day" or a value that suits your needs.
