To turn off threading in Gmail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "General" tab.
  5. Uncheck the box next to "Thread conversations" under the "Conversation view" section.
  6. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Method 2: Using the Gmail search bar

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Type "threading off" in the search bar and press Enter.
  3. This will apply the setting to your current session. To make it permanent, you'll need to use Method 1.

Method 3: Using a browser extension

If you're using a browser like Google Chrome, you can use a browser extension like "Disable Conversation View" to turn off threading.

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for "Disable Conversation View".
  2. Install the extension.
  3. Click on the extension's icon in the top right corner of the browser and select "Disable Conversation View" from the dropdown menu.

Note that turning off threading may affect your ability to easily find related emails in your inbox. If you're used to using threading to organize your emails, you may want to consider using labels or filters instead.
