Gmail users countif
A interesting combination!
To count the number of Gmail users, we can use the COUNTIF
function in Google Sheets. Here's an example:
Assumptions:
- You have a Google Sheet with a column containing Gmail addresses (e.g.,
A:A
) - You want to count the number of unique Gmail addresses
Formula:
=COUNTIF(A:A, "*@gmail.com")
How it works:
A:A
refers to the entire columnA
(assuming your Gmail addresses are in columnA
)*
is a wildcard character that matches any characters before the@
symbol@gmail.com
is the domain we're looking for (Gmail addresses end with@gmail.com
)COUNTIF
counts the number of cells in the specified range (A:A
) that match the pattern*@gmail.com
Tips:
- If you want to count only exact matches (e.g.,
[email protected]
but not[email protected]
), use=COUNTIF(A:A, "[email protected]")
- If you want to count Gmail addresses in a specific range (e.g., only in cells
A1:A10
), use=COUNTIF(A1:A10, "*@gmail.com")
- You can also use this formula to count Gmail addresses in a specific column or range, as long as the column contains the Gmail addresses.
