Gmail verification phone number
To verify your phone number with Gmail, you'll need to follow these steps:
Method 1: Verify your phone number using a text message (SMS)
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
- Click on "Change" next to "Phone number".
- Enter your phone number and click "Next".
- You'll receive a verification code via SMS on your phone.
- Enter the verification code and click "Verify".
Method 2: Verify your phone number using a voice call
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
- Click on "Change" next to "Phone number".
- Enter your phone number and click "Next".
- You'll receive a call from Google with a verification code.
- Enter the verification code and click "Verify".
Method 3: Verify your phone number using a Google Voice number
- Sign in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "Accounts and Import" tab.
- Click on "Change" next to "Phone number".
- Enter your Google Voice number and click "Next".
- You'll receive a verification code via SMS on your Google Voice number.
- Enter the verification code and click "Verify".
Once you've verified your phone number, you'll be able to use it to:
- Receive verification codes for two-factor authentication
- Enable Google's "Smart Reply" feature
- Receive notifications and updates from Google
- Use Google's "Phone" feature to make and receive calls from your Gmail account
Note: You can only verify one phone number per Gmail account. If you've already verified a phone number, you won't be able to verify another one.
