Gmail web slices

Gmail Web Slices!

Gmail Web Slices is a feature that allows you to create a small, dynamic snippet of your Gmail inbox that can be embedded on other websites or apps. This feature was introduced by Google in 2009 as part of the OpenSocial platform.

Here's how it works:

  1. You create a Web Slice by selecting a portion of your Gmail inbox that you want to share.
  2. You can customize the Web Slice by choosing the columns, labels, and filters you want to include.
  3. Once you've created the Web Slice, you can share it with others by copying the HTML code and pasting it into a website or app.
  4. The Web Slice will automatically update with new emails that match the filters and labels you selected.

Some examples of how you can use Gmail Web Slices include:

To create a Gmail Web Slice, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Select "See all settings" and then click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
  3. Click on the "Create a new filter" button and select the columns, labels, and filters you want to include in your Web Slice.
  4. Click on the "Create" button to create the filter.
  5. Click on the "Web Slice" button next to the filter name to create the Web Slice.
  6. Copy the HTML code and paste it into a website or app to embed your Web Slice.

Note that Gmail Web Slices are no longer supported by Google, and the feature is no longer available in the Gmail interface. However, you can still use the HTML code to embed your Web Slice on other websites or apps.
