Here's how it works:

  1. When you receive an email with a specific type of content, such as a package tracking number or a flight itinerary, Gmail's algorithms will automatically identify it and create a "Slice" for it.
  2. The Slice will appear as a small card or snippet within the email list view, with a brief summary of the content.
  3. You can click on the Slice to expand it and view more details, or take action on the information, such as tracking your package or checking in for your flight.
  4. You can also use the Slice to quickly reply to the email or forward it to someone else.

To enable Gmail Slices, make sure you're using the latest version of the Gmail web app, and then follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the "General" tab.
  5. Look for the "Slices" section and toggle the switch to "On".

Once you've enabled Slices, you should start seeing them appear in your email list view.
