Here are the steps to set up your email client to use Gmail's SMTP server:

  1. In your email client, go to the settings or preferences and select the "Accounts" or "Mail" tab.
  2. Click on "Add a new email account" or "New account" and select "Other email provider" or "Manual setup".
  3. Enter your name, email address, and password.
  4. In the "SMTP server" field, enter "smtp.gmail.com".
  5. In the "Port" field, enter "587" (TLS) or "25" (PLAIN TEXT).
  6. Select "TLS" or "STARTTLS" as the encryption method.
  7. Enter your Gmail username and password in the "Username" and "Password" fields.
  8. Click "Next" or "Save" to save the changes.

Note: If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to enable "Less secure app access" in your Google Account settings to allow the client to connect to your Gmail account. You can do this by going to your Google Account settings, clicking on "Security", and selecting "Less secure app access".
