Here's a step-by-step guide to setting up Google Voice voicemail:

Prerequisites:

  1. You have a Google Voice account.
  2. You have a Google Voice app installed on your device (Android or iOS).

Setup Voicemail on Google Voice App:

  1. Open the Google Voice app on your device.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines () on the top left corner to access the menu.
  3. Tap on "Settings" (gear icon).
  4. Scroll down to "Voicemail" and tap on it.
  5. Toggle the switch next to "Voicemail" to the "On" position.
  6. You will be prompted to set up your voicemail greeting. You can choose from three options:
    • Record a custom greeting: Tap on "Record" and record your voicemail greeting.
    • Use a default greeting: Tap on "Use default" to use a pre-recorded default greeting.
    • Use a pre-recorded greeting: Tap on "Use pre-recorded" to use a pre-recorded greeting from Google Voice.
  7. Set up your voicemail PIN: Enter a 4-digit PIN to secure your voicemail. You will need to enter this PIN each time you access your voicemail.
  8. Set up your voicemail transcription: You can choose to have your voicemails transcribed into text. Tap on "Transcribe voicemails" to enable or disable this feature.
