Has telstra mobile voice mail been discontinued

According to Telstra's official website and various online sources, Telstra has indeed discontinued its traditional mobile voicemail service for new customers.

As of October 2020, Telstra stopped offering voicemail as a standard feature for new mobile plans. Existing customers who had voicemail activated before this date can still access their voicemail, but new customers will not have this feature available.

Instead, Telstra recommends using alternative messaging services, such as:

  1. SMS/MMS: Send and receive text messages to and from your mobile number.
  2. Voicemail-to-Text (VMT): Transcribes voicemails into text messages, which can be accessed through the My Telstra app or online account.
  3. Online Voice Messages: Listen to and manage your voicemails online through the My Telstra app or online account.

It's worth noting that some Telstra plans may still offer voicemail as an add-on feature, but this would need to be specifically requested and may incur additional costs.

If you're an existing Telstra customer and are concerned about the discontinuation of voicemail, I recommend contacting Telstra's customer service to discuss your options and any potential alternatives.
