The convenience of holding your mail!
To hold your mail with the United States Postal Service (USPS), you can follow these steps:
Online
- Go to the USPS website at usps.com.
- Click on "Hold Mail" under the "Mail & Ship" tab.
- Sign in to your USPS account or create one if you don't have one already.
- Enter your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Review and confirm your request.
By Phone
- Call the USPS Customer Service number at 1-800-275-8777.
- Tell the representative you'd like to hold your mail and provide your name and address.
- Specify the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Confirm your request with the representative.
In Person
- Visit your local post office.
- Inform the postal clerk that you'd like to hold your mail.
- Provide your name and address.
- Specify the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Confirm your request with the clerk.
Note: If you're going to be away for an extended period, you may want to consider forwarding your mail instead of holding it. You can do this by filling out a PS Form 3817, "Mail Forwarding Request," and submitting it to your local post office.
Remember to plan ahead and request mail hold at least 3 business days before your desired hold period starts.
