Hotmail's urlsearchparams
A blast from the past!
urlsearchparams
is a feature of Hotmail (now Outlook.com) that allows users to search for emails using a specific syntax in the URL. This feature was introduced in the early days of Hotmail to enable users to quickly find specific emails using keywords, sender names, or subject lines.
Here's the basic syntax:
http://www.hotmail.com/search?query=<search_term>
Replace <search_term>
with the keyword, sender name, or subject line you want to search for. For example:
http://www.hotmail.com/search?query=hello
to search for emails containing the word "hello"http://www.hotmail.com/search?query=John+Doe
to search for emails from John Doehttp://www.hotmail.com/search?query=Meeting+Notes
to search for emails with the subject line "Meeting Notes"
When you enter a search query in the URL, Hotmail will return a list of matching emails, along with a brief summary of each email.
Note that urlsearchparams
is not a standard feature of HTTP or email protocols, and it's specific to Hotmail/Outlook.com. Other email services may not support this feature.
