Hotmail change junk mail settings
To change the junk mail settings in Hotmail, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Hotmail Website
- Sign in to your Hotmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the top right corner of the page.
- Select "More mail settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Scroll down to the "Junk email" section.
- Click on "Safe senders" or "Blocked senders" to manage your lists.
- To add a sender to the safe senders list, enter their email address in the "Add to safe senders" field and click "Add".
- To add a sender to the blocked senders list, enter their email address in the "Add to blocked senders" field and click "Add".
- You can also adjust the junk email filtering settings by selecting one of the following options:
- "Low" (less aggressive filtering)
- "Medium" (default filtering)
- "High" (more aggressive filtering)
- "Very high" (most aggressive filtering)
Method 2: Using the Outlook.com App
- Open the Outlook.com app on your device.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines () in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap on "Settings" from the menu.
- Scroll down to the "Junk email" section.
- Tap on "Safe senders" or "Blocked senders" to manage your lists.
- To add a sender to the safe senders list, tap on "Add sender" and enter their email address.
- To add a sender to the blocked senders list, tap on "Add sender" and enter their email address.
- You can also adjust the junk email filtering settings by selecting one of the following options:
- "Low" (less aggressive filtering)
- "Medium" (default filtering)
- "High" (more aggressive filtering)
- "Very high" (most aggressive filtering)
Tips:
- Make sure to add the email addresses of your contacts to your safe senders list to ensure that their emails are not marked as junk.
- If you're still receiving unwanted emails, you can try marking them as "Not junk" to help improve the accuracy of the junk email filter.
- You can also report spam emails to Microsoft by clicking on the "Report spam" button at the top of the email.
