Hotmail imap settings
Here are the IMAP settings for Hotmail:
Server Settings:
- Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
- Port: 993 (SSL/TLS)
- Authentication: Password or OAuth
Username and Password:
- Username: Your Hotmail email address (e.g., [your_email_address]@hotmail.com)
- Password: Your Hotmail email password
Additional Settings:
- Use SSL/TLS: Yes
- Use Authentication: Yes
- Validate Certificate: Yes
IMAP Folder Structure:
- Inbox: INBOX
- Sent Items: SENT ITEMS
- Deleted Items: DELETED ITEMS
- Drafts: DRAFTS
- Junk Email: JUNK EMAIL
- Spam: SPAM
- Trash: TRASH
Note:
- Hotmail uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication, so you may need to enable OAuth 2.0 in your email client or app.
- If you're using an older email client or app, you may need to use the older IMAP settings: imap.hotmail.com, port 143, and authentication using your Hotmail email address and password.
- Hotmail has deprecated the use of IMAP for some features, such as accessing your email account from a third-party app. If you're experiencing issues with IMAP, you may need to use the Outlook Web App or the Outlook desktop app instead.
