Hotmail show email address in reply

By default, Hotmail (now Outlook.com) does not display the sender's email address in the "From" field of the reply email. Instead, it uses the "Reply-To" address, which is usually the email address associated with the account.

However, there are a few ways to display the sender's email address in the "From" field of the reply email:

  1. Check the sender's email settings: The sender may have configured their email settings to display their email address in the "From" field. They can check their email settings to see if this option is enabled.
  2. Use the "From" field in the reply email: When composing a reply email, the sender can manually enter their email address in the "From" field. This will override the default "Reply-To" address and display their email address in the "From" field.
  3. Use a third-party email client: If the sender is using a third-party email client, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, they may be able to configure the client to display their email address in the "From" field.
  4. Contact the sender's email provider: If the sender is using a different email provider, such as Gmail or Yahoo, they may need to contact their email provider's support team to see if there are any settings or configurations that can be adjusted to display their email address in the "From" field.

It's worth noting that displaying the sender's email address in the "From" field can be a security risk, as it may reveal the sender's email address to spammers or other malicious actors. Therefore, it's generally recommended to use the "Reply-To" address or manually enter the sender's email address in the "From" field when composing a reply email.
