Hotmail showing unread count

The familiar sight of the unread count on Hotmail!

If you're seeing an unread count on your Hotmail inbox, it means that you have unread emails in your inbox. Here are a few possible reasons why you might be seeing this:

  1. New emails have arrived: Someone has sent you an email, and it's been delivered to your Hotmail inbox. The unread count will update automatically to reflect the new email.
  2. You have unread emails in your inbox: You might have missed some emails in your inbox, and the unread count is reflecting the number of unread emails you have.
  3. You have folders or labels with unread emails: If you have folders or labels set up in your Hotmail account, and there are unread emails in those folders or labels, the unread count will reflect the total number of unread emails across all folders and labels.

To check your unread count, simply log in to your Hotmail account and look at the top right corner of the inbox page. You should see the number of unread emails displayed there.

If you want to clear the unread count, you can simply mark all your unread emails as read by selecting the "Mark all as read" option from the inbox menu. This will update the unread count to zero.

I hope that helps!
