How am i getting junk mail from myself outlook

That's frustrating!

There are a few possible reasons why you might be receiving junk mail from yourself in Outlook:

  1. Duplicate accounts: If you have multiple Outlook accounts or profiles set up on your device, it's possible that one account is sending emails to another account, which could be causing the junk mail issue.
  2. Auto-forwarding: Check if you have auto-forwarding enabled in your Outlook settings. If you have auto-forwarded your emails to another account, it might be causing the junk mail issue.
  3. Rules or filters: Outlook's rules and filters can sometimes cause emails to be sent to yourself or other unintended recipients. Check your rules and filters to see if there's a rule that's causing the issue.
  4. Outlook add-ins: Some Outlook add-ins, such as email clients or plugins, might be causing the issue. Try disabling any recently installed add-ins to see if it resolves the problem.
  5. Email address spoofing: It's possible that someone has spoofed your email address, which could be causing the junk mail issue. Check your email headers to see if the sender's email address is legitimate.
  6. Outlook's "Send a copy to myself" feature: If you have enabled the "Send a copy to myself" feature in Outlook, it might be causing the junk mail issue. This feature sends a copy of every email you send to your own email address.

To troubleshoot the issue, you can try the following:

  1. Check your Outlook settings: Go to File > Options > Mail > Send and check if there are any settings that might be causing the issue.
  2. Review your email rules: Go to Home > Rules > Manage Rules & Alerts and review your rules to see if there's a rule that's causing the issue.
  3. Disable auto-forwarding: Go to File > Options > Mail > Send and disable auto-forwarding.
  4. Check your email headers: Go to the email you received from yourself and check the email headers to see if the sender's email address is legitimate.
  5. Try sending an email to yourself: Send an email to yourself from a different account or device to see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact Outlook support or your email provider's support team for further assistance.
