How do i know my outgoing mail server

Your outgoing mail server, also known as a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA), is the server that sends your emails to the recipient's mail server. Here are a few ways to find out your outgoing mail server:

  1. Check your email provider's settings: If you're using a web-based email service like Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook, you can usually find your outgoing mail server settings in your email account settings. Here's how:
    • For Gmail: Go to Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP Access. You'll see the outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings listed.
    • For Yahoo: Go to Settings > More Settings > Account > Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
    • For Outlook: Go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Accounts > Your email account > Outgoing mail server (SMTP).
  2. Check your email client settings: If you're using a desktop email client like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, or Apple Mail, you can usually find your outgoing mail server settings in the client's settings or preferences.
  3. Check your internet service provider's (ISP) settings: If you're using a dial-up or broadband internet connection, your ISP may provide you with outgoing mail server settings. You can usually find these settings on your ISP's website or by contacting their customer support.
  4. Use a mail client's auto-configuration feature: Many email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird, have an auto-configuration feature that can detect your outgoing mail server settings. To use this feature, follow these steps:
    • Open your email client and go to the settings or preferences.
    • Look for an option to auto-configure your email account or detect your outgoing mail server settings.
    • Follow the prompts to complete the auto-configuration process.
